Those which give us birth?

Those which are harbingers of death?

Seeking crops to feed the child,
Praying for her man to come alive
In the calling shine
of the Northern Lights.

Freezing waves show the pathway:
We set sail towards home.
Leaving dead in the pyre:
My last arrow lets them go.

Together we fought,
And together we stand
With bodies covered in red.
May this be unsung,
And we pray the rain
To help us forget.

Covered with blood
Fight to live,
Fight to let your home survive,
Drowned in the dark
Running wheel
Of the starving winter night.
Once the time will come
For the peace
To encompass our days…
Now we must go,
Ply our swords,
